Sujeet Rajan is a practising respiratory physician in
Mumbai, India. He graduated
from the Grant Medical College in Mumbai in 1989 and post-graduated in respiratory
medicine from the Seth. GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, also in Mumbai in
January 1994.
After post-graduation, Dr. Rajan spent a brief time as a Lecturer at the GS Medical
College following which he joined the Bhatia Hospital in Mumbai in January 1996. He
subsequently joined the Bombay Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences from August
2000. He has been actively involved in research and clinical practice at both
Hospitals' since then.
His special interest is interstitial lung disease (ILD) where
he has been a
principal investigator in the nerandomilast trial (BI), buloxibutid (Vicore), and now on
the
bexotegrast study (Pliant), As well as a CT imaging study (Brainomix) in progressive
fibrotic ILD. He is also the India coordinator for the REMAP-ILD trial.
Dr. Rajan is also a post-graduate teacher at the Bombay Hospital, where at least two new
resident doctors are enrolled for post-graduate degrees in respiratory medicine every
year. He was the European Respiratory Society’s National Representative from India from
2015 to 2018 and has over 50 publications to his credit.
Dr. Pratibha Singhal is a highly respected Pulmonologist at Bombay Hospital and Sir
H N Reliance Hospital. With extensive expertise in respiratory diseases, she has
dedicated her career to providing exceptional care to her patients, often working on
the frontlines of the most challenging medical scenarios.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Singhal stepped forward as a true healthcare hero,
taking on critical roles at several key institutions. On secondment from HN Reliance
Hospital, she worked tirelessly at SevenHills Hospital—transformed into a dedicated
COVID care facility—and also spent countless hours in the COVID wards at Bombay
Hospital.
Each day, Dr. Singhal bravely donned the Hazmat suit, preparing herself for long shifts
that often lasted 8-9 hours. These demanding hours left her physically exhausted and
dehydrated, yet her unwavering positivity and unshakable determination never faltered.
In the face of adversity, she and her colleagues not only provided life-saving treatment
but also uplifted the spirits of their patients with humor and compassion. Dr. Singhal’s
commitment to her patients, combined with her ability to maintain a lighthearted
atmosphere even in the most challenging times, truly exemplifies the spirit of a
warrior.
Dr. Singhal’s message to the community during the pandemic was one of empowerment and
responsibility. She urged people to stay at home, practice physical distancing, and
avoid unnecessary outings to help curb the spread of the virus. Her advice was simple
but profound: be a warrior in preventing the spread. Dr. Singhal emphasized that each
person’s actions could play a crucial role in supporting the medical community in the
battle against COVID-19.
Dr. Singhal is a beacon of hope, not just for her patients, but for the entire
community. Her selfless contributions, dedication, and compassion inspire all of us, and
we are incredibly grateful for her ongoing commitment to saving lives.
Dr. Aditya Agrawal is a dedicated pulmonologist with a lifelong mission to elevate respiratory health across India. He holds an MBBS, an MD in Respiratory Medicine (2014), and a DNB (2015), with advanced training from some of India’s most prestigious institutions, including PGIMER Chandigarh and the National Institute of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, New Delhi.
In his quest for continuing medical education, Dr. Agrawal earned the Subspecialty Certificate in Respiratory
Medicine from the Royal Colleges of Physicians of London, Edinburgh, and Glasgow in 2023.
He currently serves as an Honorary Consultant at Bombay Hospital & Medical Research Centre, Breach Candy Hospital,
and Bhatia Hospital in Mumbai. At Bombay Hospital, he is also a postgraduate teacher, actively involved in shaping
the next generation of respiratory physicians.
A passionate educator and content strategist, Dr. Agrawal has previously served as a Lecturer at D.Y. Patil Medical
College, Navi Mumbai and continues to lead the development of Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs
nationwide. His strength lies in distilling complex respiratory science into accessible, high-impact
training—empowering not just clinicians, but patients as well.
His clinical interests are focused on severe obstructive airway diseases, chronic cough, and interstitial lung
diseases (ILDs).
